… only a few of which have been highlighted as “21st century.” To deliver it all, we need to develop
We believe that the biggest mistake in education is continuing to base it on the old academic core of the previous centuries (math, language arts, science and history) rather than on what people really need, which is Effective Thinking, Effective Action, Effective Relationships and Effective Accomplishment — all of which can be taught directly. Educators continue to try to find new ways to motivate kids to learn the old stuff, when what is really needed is to incite their individual passions, and apply those passions to true future-oriented accomplishments that improve both the individuals’ lives and the world. This is a relatively new idea in the educational world, one where few are currently working:
THE GLOBAL FUTURE EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND INSTITUTE is working at the point of the pyramid, at the cutting edge of a third millennial education.

MISSION
The mission of the Global Future Education Foundation and Institute is to offer more effective alternatives to world education. We’re focused on the LONG-TERM FUTURE of education. We are NOT looking for better ways to teach math, science, language and social studies —with or without technology. Rather, we’re focused on RE-INVENTING WHAT AN EDUCATION FOR THE THIRD MILLENNIUM COULD, AND SHOULD BE. We believe that, in this age of technology, the skills that EVERY PERSON NEEDS MOST are EFFECTIVE THINKING, EFFECTIVE ACTION, EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS AND EFFECTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENT , and that those skills — in all their many facets (and strongly supported by technology) — can form a NEW CORE of world education. We believe that Effective Thinking, Effective Action, Effective Relationships and Effective Accomplishment can be taught to all kids directly, and systematically, in ways they will understand and like, and that the goal of every student’s education is not just learning those skills, but BECOMING a good, capable, world-improving person. We believe that “learning” is only a means toward the goal of becoming, and that an even BETTER means to becoming is REAL-WORLD ACCOMPLISHMENT . Education needs to move from today’s fake, made-up problems, to having students accomplish needed, real, and important things in the world. Our organization has an agenda of projects intended to encourage and support all who want to move education in these future directions. The projects include creating a new world curriculum, encouraging learning as becoming, promoting accomplishment-based learning, and organizing students and teachers globally for change. We are looking for people who share our perspective, to support these projects, in order to make these ideas — and a better world education — a reality sooner, rather than later.GOALS
The goals of THE GLOBAL FUTURE EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND INSTITUTE are:- To CREATE A NEW AND BETTER PRIMARY AND SECONDARY (K-12) CURRICULUM that works for all the world’s young people today and in the future, and prepares them as well as possible for the world they will face.

Our focus is on the long-term future of education in our new context -- not just on new technical developments, but rather on new EDUCATIONAL developments for which technology is a new foundation. Almost all today’s “reforms” and developments are really just about doing the “old stuff in new ways” — we believe the world’s entire concept of education needs to change for the new times we are entering. Through the not-for-profit GLOBAL FUTURE EDUCATION FOUNDATION AND INSTITUTE, we are trying to promote in the world three big ideas about education: 1. A new goal — Education as BECOMING — becoming a good, capable, world-improving person – and not as just “learning.” 2. A new “what” — A New K-12 curricular core of Effective Thinking, Effective Action, Effective Relationships and Effective Accomplishment, that matrixes with what we now do, and removes what we no longer need. (see charts below.) 3. A new “how” — A new pedagogy based on passion-directed, real-world accomplishments, strongly supported by technology — and not based on explanations and previously-solved problems, however delivered.DISCUSSION
Today’s K-12 education leaves out Incredible amounts of needed skills….
… only a few of which have been highlighted as “21st century.” To deliver it all, we need to develop
